This moment calls for all of us
Our Story
Grace Baptist Church began in 1987, born from the merger of Weldrick Road Baptist and Liberty Baptist, two congregations united by vision and a strategic location under the leadership of Doug Sargeant.
Over the years, Grace became known as a church that meets real needs through food support for families facing hardship, a deaf ministry that grew into its own congregation, a preschool, and a soccer league building bridges with neighbors.
Today, over 250 people gather weekly with ministries for children, youth, young adults, seniors, and newcomers to Canada. Our annual Winter Fest draws hundreds, and our commitment to the gospel continues to change lives, one story at a time.

The Project
MORE GRACE for… is our call to expand our capacity to welcome, disciple, and send with a two-phase expansion answering the growth God has brought us.
Phase 1.
— Auditorium & Lobby
A new 270-seat auditorium with a café for fellowship, and a central lobby connecting it to our current building. Our present auditorium will be repurposed for children’s and youth ministries, giving every generation room to grow.
Anticipated cost:$2.5 million

Phase 2.
— Offices and Nursery
The second phase will equip our ministries for long-term impact by removing the house and garage, relocating offices into the new building, and adding a nursery across from the new auditorium
Anticipated cost:$1.7 million

With $1.5 million already committed, we’re seeking to raise at least an additional $1 million through gifts and pledges over the next three years to complete Phase 1. The more we raise, the more of the total vision we can accomplish together.
Impact
While our seating capacity is the greatest challenge people can see, our current building limits us from building the critical mass we need to effectively minister to children and youth.
But the vision doesn’t stop at our own doors.
Our region is in need of more churches where the gospel is urgent and the Bible is clear. With greater capacity and resources, we will be positioned to become a multiplying church that can establish new congregations in Vaughan, Aurora, Markham, and Thornhill, and extend the gospel to unreached neighborhoods.
Spiritually, this campaign is an invitation to step out in faith and sacrifice, trusting that God will use our generosity to draw many to Himself.

Charlie and I joined the church in 1983 when it was Weldrick Road Baptist.Grace Baptist has always been a blessing and church home to us through good times and bad.
The strong preaching of Pastor Doug, Pastor David, and Paul has guided us in the word over the years. We are thankful.
A Diverse Family of Believers
I found a diverse family of believers of different ethnic, economical and life stages all working to the same goal of following Christ.

Joined a men’s group that encouraged and supported each other through difficult challenges and treasuring the times sharing and bearing each other’s burdens. We help each other push against the darkness of the world and share in the struggles and lessons God has in store for us.
Partnership Opportunity
Generosity is at the heart of God’s story. All we have is a gift entrusted to us, so that we might be a blessing to others. For over three decades, Grace has witnessed God’s faithfulness through the sacrificial giving of His people. As we invest in this next chapter, we believe God will use every gift, large or small, to change lives and expand His kingdom, here in our city and beyond.
May we give not out of obligation, but with joy and expectancy, trusting that God will honor our faith and use our gifts for His glory.
